Setiap orang sepertinya mempunyai macam-macam kopi kesukaannya masing-masing. Saya tahu kalau saya pergi ke sebuah cafe, akan memesan apa. Paling-paling kalau tidak Caffe Latte, Caramel Macchiato, Americano, atau Flat White. Tapi macam-macam kopi itu apa bedanya ya?
Mungkin untuk anda yang memang pernah bekerja di sebuah coffee house (seperti starbucks, dll) anda sudah mengetahui macam-macam kopi, apa bedanya, dan bagaimana cara membuatnya. Tapi untuk orang lain yang belum tahu, ada baiknya jika saya menjabarkan apa saja sih bedanya macam-macam kopi tersebut.
Straight Espresso
Espresso dalam shot ini sangat digemari di Italia, dan tergolong relatif “kuat”. Macam-macam kopi Espresso shot yaitu:
* Ristretto Espresso
Shot pendek yang hanya mengambil 3/4 ons dari shot untuk mengindari bagian espresso yang pahit, dan hanya mengambil bagian terbaik.
* Single Espresso
Espresso shot 1 ons.
* Lungo Espresso
Espresso shot 1.5 ons.
* Double Espresso
Espresso shot 2 ons, dengan isi kopi 2 kali lipat.
Espresso Macchiato
Shot Espresso yang diberikan foam susu di bagian atas dengan sendok, disajikan di gelas / mug kecil.
Espresso Con Panna
Panna artinya krim. Jadi intinya sama dengan Espresso Macchiato, tetapi menggunakan whipped cream / krim.
Americano
Shot Espresso, namun ditambahkan air panas sehingga rasa kopi-nya tidak terlalu “kuat”.
Cappuccino
Shot Espresso dituangkan steamed milk (semacam busa dari susu dingin yang dipanaskan).
Caffe Latte
Shot Espresso dituangkan steamed milk, tapi busa-nya ditahan sampai gelas sekitar 75% penuh, baru busa-nya dituangkan di atasnya.
Caffe Mocha / Mochacino
Ini adalah variasi dari Caffe Latte, tapi sirup coklat ditambahkan sebelum steamed milk / susu.
Flat White
Tipe kopi yang berasal dari Australia dan New Zealand. Disajikan dengan ditambahkan steamed milk / susu dari bagian bawah pitcher ke single atau double shot Espresso. Minuman ini agak mirip dengan latte.
Liqueur Coffee
Kopi yang ditambahkan sekitar 25ml liquor, disajikan di gelas / cup khusus liqueur coffee yang bening, dengan kopi dan bahan tambahan dipisahkan agar terlihat lebih enak. Liquor dicampurkan dengan gula dan dituangkan dahulu sebelum kopi (filter). Whipped cream / krim ditambahkan di atasnya.

Manfaat Kopi
Menurut Harvard Women’s Health, konsumsi kopi beberapa cangkir sehari dapat mengurangi risiko diabetes tipe 2, pembentukan batu ginjal, kanker usus besar, penyakit parkinson, kerusakan fungsi hati (sirosis), penyakit jantung serta menghambat penurunan daya kognitif otak.
* Diabetes. Dua puluh studi yang dilakukan di seluruh dunia menunjukkan bahwa kopi mengurangi risiko diabetes tipe 2 hingga 50%. Para peneliti menduga penyebabnya adalah asam klorogenik di dalam kopi berperan memperlambat penyerapan gula dalam pencernaan. Asam klorogenik juga merangsang pembentukan GLP-1, zat kimia yang meningkatkan insulin (hormon yang mengatur penyerapan gula ke dalam sel-sel). Zat lain dalam kopi yaitu trigonelin (pro vitamin B3) juga diduga membantu memperlambat penyerapan glukosa.
* Kanker. Riset secara konsisten menunjukkan bahwa kopi mengurangi risiko kanker hati, kanker payudara dan kanker usus besar.
* Sirosis. Kopi melindungi hati dari sirosis, terutama sirosis karena kecanduan alkohol.
* Penyakit Parkinson. Para peminum kopi memiliki risiko terkena Parkinson setengah lebih rendah dibanding mereka yang tidak minum kopi.
* Penyakit jantung dan stroke. Konsumsi kopi tidak meningkatkan risiko jantung dan stroke. Sebaliknya, kopi justru sedikit mengurangi risiko stoke. Sebuah studi atas lebih dari 83.000 wanita berusia lebih dari 24 tahun menunjukkan mereka yang minum dua sampai tiga cangkir kopi sehari memiliki risiko terkena stroke 19% lebih rendah dibandingkan mereka yang tidak minum kopi. Studi terhadap sejumlah pria di Finlandia menunjukkan hasil yang sama.
* Fungsi kognitif. Studi atas 4.197 wanita dan 2.820 pria di Perancis menunjukkan bahwa meminum setidaknya tiga cangkir kopi sehari dapat menghambat penurunan fungsi kognitif otak akibat penuaan hingga 33 persen pada wanita. Namun, manfaat yang sama tidak ditemukan pada pria. Hal ini mungkin karena wanita lebih peka terhadap kafein.
Efek Negatif Kopi
Namun demikian, kopi juga memiliki efek negatif. Kafein sebagai kandungan utama kopi bersifat stimulan yang mencandu. Kafein mempengaruhi sistem kardiovaskuler seperti peningkatan detak jantung dan tekanan darah. Dampak negatif itu muncul bila Anda mengkonsumsinya secara berlebihan.
Bagi kebanyakan orang, minum dua sampai tiga cangkir kopi tidak memberikan dampak negatif. Meminum kopi dengan frekuensi lebih dari itu bisa menimbulkan jantung berdebar-debar, sulit tidur, kepala pusing dan gangguan lainnya. Oleh karena itu, bagi mereka yang mengkonsumsi kopi agar tidak mengantuk–misalnya karena kekurangan tidur– disarankan agar konsumsinya disebar sepanjang hari.
Riset mengenai hubungan konsumsi kopi dengan keguguran kandungan tidak memberikan kesimpulan seragam. Tetapi, untuk amannya ibu hamil disarankan tidak minum lebih dari satu cangkir kopi sehari.

Tragic Love Story Let me Love You
Once upon a time, there was once a guy who was very much in love with this girl. This romantic guy folded 1,000 pieces of papercranes as a gift to his girl. Although, at that time he was just a small executive in his company, his future doesn't seemed too bright, they were very happy together. Until one day, his girl told him she was going to Paris and will never come back. She also told him that she cannot visualise any future for the both of them, so let's go their own ways there and then... heartbroken, the guy agreed.
When he regained his confidence, he worked hard day and night, slogging his body and mind just to make something out of himself. Finally with all these hardwork and with the help of friends, this guy had set up his own company...
"You never fail until you stop trying." he always told himself. "I must make it in life!"
One rainy day, while this guy was driving, he saw an elderly couple sharing an umbrella in the rain walking to some destination. Even with the umbrella, they were still drenched. It didn't take him long to realise those were his ex-girlfriend's parents. With a heart in getting back at them, he drove slowly beside the couple, wanting them to spot him in his luxury sedan. He wanted them to know that he wasn't the same anymore, he had his own company, car, condo, etc. He had made it in life!
Before the guy can realise, the couple was walking towards a cemetary,and he got out of his car and followed them...and he saw his ex-girlfriend, a photograph of her smiling sweetly as ever at him from her tombstone... and he saw his precious papercranes in a bottle placed beside her tomb. Her parents saw him. He walked over and asked them why this had happened. They explained, she did not leave for France at all. She was stricken ill with cancer. In her heart, she had believed that he will make it someday, but she did not want her illness to be his obstacle ... therefore she had chosen to leave him.
She had wanted her parents to put his papercranes beside her, because, if the day comes when fate brings him to her again he can take some of those back with him. The guy just wept ...the worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them but knowing you can't have them and will never see them again.
